Flow Comparison
The resulting flow capacity after the sliplining of an existing pipe can be compared to the flow capacity of the existing pipe by ratios of the n values and the diameters. The following equation (derived from the Manning equation) has been used below to determine the ratio of the existing flow to the Slipliner flow:
The only variable in the above equation is the value of the Manning n. The Manning n depends on many factors, such as corrosion, sliming, and joint offsets, which occur in aged sewers. The Manning n for Vylon Slipliner is 0.009 and a mature Vylon Slipliner can be conservatively estimated at 0.011.
